LVMH appoints Laura Burdese as chief executive of Bulgari

LVMH has appointed Laura Burdese as chief executive of Bulgari, with effect from 1 July 2026.

Burdese, who is currently deputy chief executive of the jewellery brand, will succeed Jean-Christophe Babin, who is stepping down after 12 years in the role.

She will report to Stéphane Bianchi, group managing director of LVMH and chief executive of LVMH Watches and Jewelry.

Story Stream: More on Bulgari

Burdese has spent nearly a decade at LVMH. She joined the group as chief executive of Acqua di Parma before moving to Bulgari in 2022 as chief marketing officer.

She was promoted to deputy chief executive in July 2024, having overseen a period of brand repositioning and growth.

Burdese would continue the work carried out under Babin, focusing on consolidating Bulgari’s market position and supporting sustainable growth.

Babin, who has worked at LVMH for more than 25 years, will remain chairman of the Bulgari board, chief executive of the Bulgari hotel business unit and president of the Bulgari Foundation. He will continue to report to Bianchi.

During his tenure, Babin led a major transformation of the brand, strengthening its identity as a Roman high jewellery house.

Burdese said: “I am honoured to be appointed CEO of Bulgari. Leading a brand with such a strong identity is something I approach with commitment, care, and a deep sense of responsibility.

“My sincere gratitude goes to Jean-Christophe Babin. Working alongside him has been a privilege. His leadership has profoundly shaped Bvlgari, strengthening its Roman spirit, creative ambition, and global presence. I am thankful for his vision, his energy, and the standards he set, which will continue to guide and inspire our work.”

She added: “Above all, I want to thank the Bvlgari teams. Your talent, dedication, and generosity are the human force behind everything Bvlgari does. It is with you that I look forward to the next chapter: continuing to build with care, fostering creativity and responsibility, and shaping a future that remains true to who we are, while opening new paths forward — together.”
