Moores Jewellers has announced the closure of its Mahon Point and Douglas Court shopping centre locations in Cork, ending 46 years of retail operations.
The stores are provisionally scheduled to cease trading on Tuesday, 18 March 2026.
Management has initiated a closing-down sale with discounts of up to 70% across its inventory of jewellery and watches.
Customers holding gift vouchers, store credit, or uncollected repairs have been advised to visit the locations before the final closing date to settle outstanding transactions.
The company, which has operated in Cork since the late 1970s, specialised in engagement and wedding jewellery.
The closure follows nearly five decades of participation in the regional luxury goods market. No official reason for the cessation of trading has been disclosed by the company’s leadership.
Staff at both the Mahon Point and Douglas Court branches have begun the process of finalising special orders and inventory liquidations.
The Moores Jewellers team said: “After 46 years of being part of engagements, weddings, and special milestones, the journey for Moores Jewellers is coming to an end. While we are saying goodbye, we want to focus on the memories we’ve shared with you. Thank you for 46 years of loyalty and friendship.”
