Tasaki has announced Richard Collasse as its new global CEO, while his predecessor Toshikazu Tajima will assume the role of chairman.
In his new capacity, Collasse will manage the Japanese luxury jeweller’s headquarter functions. Drawing on his experience in both the Japanese and overseas luxury markets, he will represent the company’s brand vision worldwide while directing its global brand and management strategies.
Tajima, as chairman, will be responsible for upholding the business’ strategic vision through his “deep commitment to the brand” and long-term outlook.
In Japan, Tasaki has additionally appointed Kentaro Odagiri as representative director and CEO, a move it said will enhance customer experiences and reinforce its position in its domestic market.
Matthew Bai will step into the role of Asia CEO, to capitalise on the “dynamic potential” of regional markets and promote locally-led expansion.
The firm said its refreshed leadership team builds on a legacy of craftsmanship and innovation while working to drive sustainable growth and strengthen its global value.
Richard Collasse said: “It is a tremendous honor for me to succeed Mr. Tajima as President and Global CEO of Tasaki Holdings.
“With deep respect for his achievements and legacy, I aim to bring renewed dynamism to Tasaki while embodying Japan’s globally admired aesthetic values. By listening carefully to the voices of each employee and approaching this role with humility, I hope to contribute to the company’s continued evolution.”
He added: “I will dedicate my full efforts to ensuring that the Tasaki brand shines with the international brilliance it deserves within the global luxury industry.”
Toshikazu Tajima said: “Our vision is to cultivate Tasaki into a brand that is recognized and respected across the world’s major markets as a luxury jeweler originating from Japan.
“As I assume the role of Chairman of Tasaki Holdings, it gives me great pleasure to pass the torch of President and CEO to Richard Collasse, someone I have long known in the luxury industry and who has also been a worthy competitor.”
He added: “I am confident that Mr. Collasse’s extensive experience and global network in the luxury sector will lead Tasaki toward the realization of this vision.”
