Sasha Primak acquires Gemlok | Jewellery Focus

Sasha Primak has acquired New York-based jewellery manufacturer Gemlok, strengthening its manufacturing capabilities while adding one of the US fine jewellery sector’s longest-established brands to its portfolio.

The acquisition forms part of Sasha Primak’s strategy to expand its portfolio of jewellery businesses focused on craftsmanship, innovation and independent retail partnerships. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Founded more than 50 years ago by master jeweller Jean Vitau, Gemlok is best known for its patented Bridge Setting, which helped establish the company as a specialist in bridal jewellery. Alongside its bridal collections, the company manufactures necklaces, bracelets, earrings, rings and bespoke fine jewellery from its New York workshop.

As part of the acquisition, Gemlok president Myriam Galli will remain in her role to oversee the company’s next phase of growth and ensure continuity for retail partners. According to Sasha Primak, the acquisition will strengthen its vertically integrated manufacturing platform while preserving Gemlok’s brand identity and reinforcing New York’s position as a centre for fine jewellery manufacturing.
