Christie’s appoints new global managing director for luxury

Global auction house Christie’s has appointed Kimberly Miller as global managing director for luxury, promoting her from her previous role as regional managing director for luxury in the Americas.

Miller will be based in New York and will oversee Christie’s global luxury business across live and online auctions and private sales. She will work with specialist teams in Geneva, Hong Kong, London, New York and Paris.

The appointment follows a year of growth for Christie’s luxury category. The auction house said luxury sales totalled $795m (£591.2m) in 2025, up 17% year on year. 

In November, the Mellon Blue diamond sold in Geneva for CHF 20.5m (£19.07m), the highest-value jewellery lot sold at auction during the year, contributing to a week of sales that rose 24% compared with the previous year.

In her previous role, Miller led strategy and performance across the jewellery, watches, wine and handbags departments in the Americas. 

She was also involved in the integration of Gooding following Christie’s acquisition of the business and oversaw the relaunch of wine auctions in New York, including the sale of The Cellar of William I. Koch.

Miller joined Christie’s in 2010, starting her career in the wine department before moving into senior specialist and management roles within 20th Century design and the luxury division.

She holds a BA in art history from Temple University and an MBA from NYU Stern School of Business.
