Eleanor Juliet Atelier launches with Pink Puff jewellery collection

Eleanor Juliet Atelier (EJA) has launched with a limited edition Pink Puff jewellery collection.

The brand said the handcrafted pieces are intended as a “playful symbol of feminism”, drawing on debates around the cultural associations of the colour pink.

Founder Eleanor Taylor-Roberts said the collection reflects changing meanings of the shade over time. She said: “At the beginning of the 20th Century, pink was widely regarded as a colour of masculinity – symbolising vitality, strength, and power – whilst blue was associated with femininity. By the 1940s, marketing narratives had reversed these associations.

“Today, the conversation has evolved into a broader exploration of identity and gender expression. Take the somewhat recent Warner Bros film Barbie with Margot Robbie at the cultural forefront – the discourse shifted once more reflecting a modern interpretation that intersects with themes of motherhood and contemporary womanhood.”

Taylor-Roberts added that the collection embodies EJA’s “commitment to redefining feminine colours as emblems of authority and empowerment”.

The brand highlighted that pink has historically been linked to a range of cultural meanings – from aristocratic elegance in 18th Century Europe to a post-war emblem of domesticity, and later, a symbol of punk feminism.

EJA said the Pink Puff collection aims to contribute to this ongoing dialogue, encouraging wearers to engage with ideas of identity, gender and power through jewellery.
