Jana Reinhardt celebrates 20 years in business

Independent jewellery brand Jana Reinhardt is celebrating its 20th anniversary, looking back on two years since its inception in London.

Reinhardt launched her company in March 2006 as a self-employed jeweller with a small workspace at Cockpit Arts in London. In the firm’s infancy, she developed her own collections alongside working in Hatton Garden and teaching jewellery classes at City Lit.

Her training began in Germany’s Leipzig with a traditional apprenticeship before she studied jewellery design at the Zeichenakademie in Hanau. She later gained the Master Goldsmith qualification, an accreditation demonstrating advanced technical mastery.

Cutting, who joined the business full-time in 2009, holds a jewellery degree from London Guildhall and expanded the company’s offering through stone-setting and bespoke commissions.

The brand’s early collections were characterised by intricate floral designs. Ross’ arrival moved the couple towards smaller, more commercial pieces that they began displaying at trade fairs.

In 2012, the couple relocated their operations from London to Worthing, West Sussex, continuing to supply retailers while building their online platform. Responding to growing demand over time, the company now sells only through its own website.

The brand now focuses on handmade animal jewellery collections, with hundreds designed over the years.

The firm also prioritises sustainability, using recycled precious metals, plastic-free packaging and tree planting through Ecologi to offset carbon emissions.

The company also has a dedicated collection to raise funds for animal welfare charities such as PETA, OVAID, NAWT and Animal Aid, with more than £20,000 raised to date.

Commenting on the milestone, Jana Reinhardt said: “We honestly couldn’t have done this without our customers. Every order, review and recommendation has helped us reach this milestone.”
