247 Diamonds launches 247Loupe | Jewellery Focus

Jewellery supplier 247 Diamonds has launched 247 Loupe, an AI-powered WhatsApp tool that enables jewellers to generate bespoke quotes in under one minute, streamlining a process that has traditionally taken days.

The tool allows jewellers to send a customer’s ring image, sketch or inspiration picture via Whatsapp and receive an estimate. The new platform uses artificial intelligence image recognition technology to analyse elements of a ring design, including ring and metal types as well as stone sizes and design features.

247 Diamonds said the product has been developed to address delays in the bespoke quotation process, allowing retailers to respond faster and improve the efficiency of bespoke sales, which represent 19% of annual UK jewellery retail sales and continue to grow by 15% year-on-year.

The system draws on the company’s database of more than 100,000 real production models to help generate accurate estimates on weights, dimensions and product costs. The system then applies live diamond and metal pricing to generate a quote, which consumers can show by applying their own retail margins via the dashboard.

Once a quote is approved, the order is sent to 247 Diamonds’ CAD design team through Whatsapp, where a photo-realistic video render of the design is created within 48 hours. The company also offers a white-label version of the tool, allowing jewellers to add it to their own websites and collect customer enquiries and contact details.

Luke Billing, managing director of 247 Diamonds, said: “You cannot build this tool without the CAD library underneath it. Anyone can wire up an AI vision API. Nobody else has spent two decades producing the 100,000+ CAD files those estimates need to be checked against. That library is not something a startup can replicate – it has to be earned.”
