Jewellery retail chain F Hinds has raised over £15,000 for Dementia UK, following a nationwide two-month fundraising campaign involving colleagues and customers across its stores and head office.
A major pillar of the campaign saw F Hinds partner with ear-piercing specialist Studex for National Ear Piercing Day. For every ear piercing carried out in its 115 stores, the jeweller donated £1 directly to Dementia UK, turning a high street service into a national fundraising initiative.
The collaboration marks the latest milestone in the long-standing relationship between the two companies, using their retail footprints to maximise the charity’s reach.
While the campaign has concluded, F Hinds said it will continue to accept donations in its stores until 30 September 2026. The business will also continue its efforts with the return of its annual campaign in support of BBC Children in Need, scheduled to launch in October 2026.
Andrew Hinds, chairman, said: “We are incredibly proud to have raised over £15,000 for Dementia UK and would like to thank our customers and colleagues for their fantastic support. Our National Ear Piercing Day initiative with Studex was a wonderful example of how we can combine a popular customer experience with charitable fundraising.”
Joanna Sullivan, deputy director of fundraising at Dementia UK, said: “We’re grateful to F Hinds and Studex for raising an impressive sum for Dementia UK. By bringing together colleagues and customers with this initiative they will help us reach people affected by dementia through our dementia specialist Admiral Nurses.”
